Valley Golf Center

Back in 1971, the Valley Golf Center humbly started out as 13 acres in the middle of the desert. It continued its “Tin Cup” dustbowl status until they began a $6 million dollar upgrade. After much research they decided the best company to bring their vision into reality was Range Automation Systems.

The future is Automation

Finally, in 2009, after 5 years of planning, the Valley Golf Center upgrade was ready. It transformed a basic venue into one of the most user friendly and technologically advanced driving ranges in the country. Range Automation Systems installed the NorthStar4 Auto Tee System combined with the Range Management Software(RMS). Complete turn-key automation from the Ball Washer to the Tee.

To start, collect and load the range balls into the Soak Tank. The Soak tank loosens and mud or dirt and transports them into the Washer/Dryer. This 2-in-1 machine washes and dries the range balls. Subsequently they roll into the Stock box elevator. This elevator fills the large Stock box with the now clean and ready to hit range balls.

The Range Management Software tells the system when to automatically load the range balls. This starts the second elevator which transports the balls to the horizontal conveyor. From there they travel down the tee line and fill the dispensers which supply each bay. (One dispenser can supply 1-4 bays) Once the dispensers are full a sensor tells the RMS to reverse the conveyor. This returns the remaining balls back to the stock box, ready for the next cycle.

With the automation dialed in, the final touch was a low maintenance, 260yard x 200 yard landing area. The entire landing area is all synthetic turf, which gives the look and feel of a real golf course. The 10 synthetic turf target greens react just like a real green at a golf course. Customers know exactly how far each target is from their hitting station, because yardage is lasered to each target green.
